Erik D. Roemer, CFP®, CEPA
Chief Compliance Officer
When it comes to financial planning, complying with regulatory requirements is a serious job. No one knows that better than Erik.
Erik guides our clients in making smart, sound decisions about how their resources are invested and managed. He provides ongoing planning advice, monitors portfolios and ensures our team complies with ethical and regulatory trading policies.
In addition to his daily client facing and auditing responsibilities, Erik also leads our investment committee. This monthly, educational meeting is focused on research and internal education for our team’s analysts and advisors. Erik leads each session with the latest industry trends, investment products and offerings, to help our team make sophisticated and educated recommendations for our clients.
When Erik joined our team in 2000, he brought more than 10 years of industry experience, having served as a resource expert for the Regions Bank (formerly AmSouth) family of mutual funds where he provided consultation to retail investment advisors, and as a financial advisor for Chase Investment Services in New York.
Erik graduated from Hamilton College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional, a Certified Exit Planning Advisor, and holds Series 7, 63 and 65 Securities Licenses and the State of Ohio Life and Health Insurance License.
If he’s not at Gerber, you can bet on finding Erik outdoors—water skiing, fishing or sitting around a campfire with his wife Kim and two sons. His favorite month is June, since that’s when he can pack in more of these activities than any other time of year. It’s also his wife’s birthday month—which he says automatically makes it a favorite—and when summer berries are ripe for picking. (We hear his mom makes a mean strawberry pie.)
