IMPROVED COMMUNICATION FROM PERSONALITY TESTS [AS SEEN ON INC.COM]
January 18, 2018
Myers Briggs, Strengthfinders, Kolbe, DISC, etc.- With so many different types of personality tests and assessments out there we have to stop and ask ourselves, how do they really help entrepreneurs and their companies? Our focus in the Inc.com article [Permission to Be Your Best Self: Granted] is all about how these tests have improved communication within our own organization.
PERSONALITY TESTS & ENTREPRENEURS
Randy Gerber, Founder & Principal of Gerber, LLC, has taken numerous tests on his own and now makes it part of the onboarding process at Gerber that all new team member take the Myers Brigg’s test to see how their personality compares to others in the office. From those findings, five of our team members are the same type (ENFJ) and 10 others are in their own categories.
“Understanding how people communicate and bringing to light their strengths and weaknesses helps our team avoid any conflict that arises from different communication styles and assists with building effective teams as our business continues to grow.”
HOW THE HECK DO THEY HELP?
“By having the team take these types of tests, it has taught me that people process information differently and it’s opened up the company to blind spots that we can now focus on,” Randy Gerber stated. “The common underlying goal is to use the results to form a team that does outstanding work and meets their goals as well as works on their weaknesses.”
Regardless of the type of test taken, the results not only help entrepreneurs understand themselves better, but it also allows them to understand others around them.
