THE BENEFITS OF OWNING A SMALL BUSINESS

Never underestimate the power of small business.

Its value has never been more evident.

The U.S. Small Business Administration states there are more than  million small businesses across the United States, employing nearly half of all U.S. workers.

While some employees like working for big companies, there are many others - like us and like yourself - who prefer the intimacy of the small business setting, where we can see how the work we do every day really matters.

Here are some benefits of owning a small  business:

#1: CUSTOMER INTIMACY

As small business owners, we get to know our customers on a closer, more personal level.

And this matters. According to National Funding, working closely with your customers provides the personal touch that is often lost in today's automated age.

Relationships are built, trust is earned, and loyalty is shown. Ensuring your customers are happy and comfortable will keep them coming back to you in the future.

#2: SATISFIED EMPLOYEES = SATISFIED CUSTOMERS

Small businesses provide a perfect environment for those employees who want to be associated with a smaller employer.

They can feel a sense of ownership, take pride in their work, make an impact, and build their identity.

And we all know that having happy, contented employees result in satisfied customers.

According to Consultancy, small business employees who are tuned into their customers deliver a highly personalized level of service, and this is a model that other enterprises should consider to improve their customer experience.

#3: CONTENTED BUSINESS OWNER

Most small business owners are satisfied with the decision they've made to strike out on their own.

Guidant Financial and the Small Business Trends Alliance (SBTA) surveyed over 2,400 business owners to compile the 2021 Small Business Trends. They found that:

76% of those who decided to run their own business report feeling happy with their decision

The top motivators for starting a small business were to:
  • be their own boss (29%)
  • alleviate their dissatisfaction with corporate USA (17%)
  • pursue their passion (16%)

While many small business owners report working harder, they often say they love what they do. According to Digital, 92% of small business owners don't regret what they've done, and 84% say they would do it again.
